4 Important Things to Remember Before You Hit The Road For Open Houses

It’s Sellers Market! What does this really means? First, prices are going up! In a market which has more buyers than sellers, high price results from  excess of demand over supply.
Yes, it also means multiple offers and sometimes a lot of disappointments. More frequently, listing agents aren’t  holding showings until open house  and when Sunday Open House is here they already have offers on the table. If you don’t want to miss an opportunity on a specific property you’d better be ready! Talk to your realtor and ask him if they’ll be available to meet you in case you find your “Dream Home”.  The sellers are reviewing offers after the weekend but you never know if they’ll accept your good offer right there on the spot. Have your pre-approval letter from your lender handy, your check book (for the deposit to secure the offer) and say a prayer … 🙂

To save you time, instead of going from website to website to find Open Houses in your area you can contact me through email,  phone, text or even a Facebook private message and I will send you all the information that you need for the area you choose. Four important things to remember before you hit the road…

  • Not all the Open Houses are at the same time, so you might want to plan your route a little bit. Google Maps is your best road buddy!
  • Bring a note pad with you so you can record all the details that seem important to you. When you are visiting many properties at the same time, sometimes is hard to remember very important information that could be of great value to help you in making a decision.
  • Even though we all carry our cameras with us these days, pictures and videos usually are not allowed in Open Houses. If they don’t have the listing information with pictures you also can contact me and I will gladly obtain them on your behalf.
  • Don’t be afraid of asking questions! Depending on the traffic for a specific property, you might have to wait to get the attention that you want from the Realtor but don’t be intimidated… After all… It’s an OPEN HOUSE and they are inviting you to come!
